NECESSITY OF IODINE IN YOUR DAILY DIET
During earlier times, Iodine deficiency was a problem to reckon with amongst a majority of people worldwide. Fortunately this problem has been reduced to a large extent due to the inclusion of iodised salt in the food we eat. Moreover even the milk we drink nowadays is supplemented with iodine. When a human body is deficient in Iodine it leads to the problem of hypothyroidism. This can lead to severe problems of tiredness, obesity, and low levels of physical and mental energy. Sometimes it may be noticed that in spite of the intake of iodine in one form or the other the individual is suffering from hypothyroidism. This could be due to a lack of assimilation of iodine within the body due to consumption of some goitre-causing compounds present in foods like cabbage, broccoli, Soya food etc.
