Women Directors In Bollywood
From the start of this year three most notable woman directors have made their debut. Each a personality in her own right and each different from the other in their styles of functioning. Zoya Akhtar director of Luck by Chance, Sooni Taraporewala’s Little Zizou and Nandita das’s Firaaq.Earlier there were not many women venturing into direction besides a few like Deepa Mehta,Tanuja Chandra,Meghna Gulzar, Meera Nair, Revathy and recently Farah Khan.
Earlier the audiences were not receptive to women-centric topics and were more chauvinistic in their views. But clearly the whole scenario is changing.
The present day audiences have become more receptive to seeing different kinds of films and the multiplex culture is making it possible to exhibit these films.
