Consolidated bills – Categories

Posted by admin on Jul 14, 2009 in Debts

When we consolidate bills it could be from any of the five categories that the consolidated bill is divided into. The five categories into which the consolidated bills belong to are bills that are to re-enact an existing law or to bring in changes to consolidate debts. In this category no important changes are made. The second categories in which consolidate bills are seen are in form of previous laws in which amendment is sought. These amendments are proposed by the law commission or alternatively repealed by them. A bill can be consolidated to repeal some of the unnecessary parts of an existing law or to bring in minor changes also, especially in need to consolidate debts. Such changes can also be made under the Consolidation of Enactments (Procedure) Act 1949, which again allows corrections.
